Long time no see my dear blog!

For the past two months I’ve been doing a lot of rehab for my hip, and I can promise you that there has been a lot of hours spent in the gym and on the bike for me. My hip is supposed to be fully healed up by beginning of June and that feels about right at the moment!

Yesterday I couldn’t bare the thought of not having the trampoline up as it’s nearly summer now! So me and my neighbour Victor put it up in my backyard again, whieeee!

I got some boring news. Last thursday I received my results from my MRI and it showed that I have a crack in my pelvis. I’m pretty sure that I damaged my pelvis in december when I did a heavy crash on a down-flat-down rail during Dew Tour in Breckenridge. So it’s not so strange that it has been hurting every time I fell on it during this season. Although, as I didn’t let it heal up in the first place, my healing time starts now = 3 to 6 months without any falls on my hip/pelvis until the bone is healed up = no skiing in the park… :(

I’m super bummed that I’m going to miss the rest of the season, but it’s still a relief that I finally know what’s wrong and that I will heal up by itself without any need of a surgery. I will receive a new MRI in June to see if it’s ready for skiing and falling :)

Sooooo, now I have 3 months that was scheduled with skiing that now is unscheduled… I guess there is gonna be a lot of time spent in the gym this spring!

Once again I’ve taken another fall on my stupid hip… Right now I’m down here in Kaprun for the Austrian Freeski Open. But as I fell on my hip on my first day down here when I was just cruising around on the mountain, the result was that I had to turn down the comp…

Although I shouldn’t be complaining, as the weather has been awesome here in Kitzsteinhorn – bluebird and no wind, yummm! So today I had a really good day while watching the girls and rookies qualification and final. The riding was great both on the girls and the boys side and I’m extra stoked that I got see little Kelly Sildaru (11 years old!)  throw down in the course! The first day we went skiing it was kind of cloudy, but it didn’t really matter, it’s beautiful anyway! I love the alps!

Felix is jumping his biggest cliff in his career – so far. Hopefully he’s gonna do a new PB shortly!

As it won’t be so much skiing done for me down here I guess I’ll be working on my goggle tan instead of my tricks. So see you guys later!

I’m so glad to have this comp over and done with, phewww! I was really nervous to compete here as it was my first comp back since my hip injury in december and I had some doubts if I was able to do it or not. But it turned out alright in the end and I’m so stoked to end up with 4th place! Big congratz to the girls on the podium: 1.Tiril Sjåstad Christiansen, 2.Katie Summerhayes, 3. Anna Segal :)

Today the guys had their qualification here in Corvatsch, Silvaplana. It was 3 heats and 16 guys went through to tomorrows finals. Two out of  8 swedish guys managed to qualified, Oscar Wester and Niklas Eriksson! :D You can see the whole result list here: WC Silvaplana Men’s Qualification Results

My qualification starts at 8:30 tomorrow morning, so it’s gonna be an early rise as training starts at 8:00. I’m gonna be tired, but I’m kind of stoked to get this comp over and done with!

Oscars Scherlin on the 1st jump. It was flat light most of the day and it was a hard time out there for the boys the get a run down.

We have now had two days of practice here at the world cup in Corvatsch, Silvaplana, Switzerland. Or should I say, we were supposed to have had two days of practice. Because when we came up yesterday the first two jumps wasn’t even finished yet and the rest of the course was built really weird and dangerous, so they needed to rebuild everything except for 2 features…

Luckily enough the course looked a lot better when we turned up this morning for practice and we could have 3hrs long training session in the course. Can’t really say that the course is great, but it works.

I was supposed to qualify tomorrow, but as we’re only 24 girls competing, they cancelled tomorrows quali’s and moved it to friday instead. So tomorrow it’s gonna be a chilled out day for me with watching the guys qauli heats and hopefully some pow turns, nice!

Here’s a preview of the course:

1st feature: Dfd fatpipe or a down box

2nd feature: Jump, around 17 meter long and with a looooong landing

3rd feature: Jump, around 15-18 m, flack kicker and a flack landing. Think they’re gonna change this one for tomorrow and add some more pop to the jump

4th feature: A bonk thing to the left and a tabletop jump to the right, around 17 m.

5th feature: From the left; A flatrail, a shoot-out table and a gap to flat-down box to the right

6th feature: A butter-box with a really flat landing, hopefully they’re gonna fix that for tomorrow!

This weekend I went up to Kläppen! It’s always nice to come back to that there, as it’s where I skied when I went to school in Malung for three years, so it almost feels like coming back home :)

Kläppen’s park is awesome this year! They have a fun rail line with some boxes and rails, but it’s the jumps that is the true highlight of the park. There’s two different lines, a red line and a black line. Each line has two different sizes of jumps that you can choose from and it makes the park perfect for learning new tricks.

Although, my hip isn’t in a super good condition yet, so still had to take it pretty mellow when it came to progression this weekend… But hopefully I can change that next time I’m gonna visit Kläppen :)

Tonight I arrived in Silvaplana, Schweiz. I’m here to compete in my first world cup, and I’m very excited! Stay tuned for more updates to drop shortly!

After 47 hours of travel, I’m now back home in Sweden, boohja! Kind of got stuck in a weather chaos in Frankfurt so my trip got a wee bit delayed… It was planes that were defrosting, 20 cm of snow, under-cooled-rain and so on that made the chaos. When I finally got a flight to Stockholm I had a chilly night at Arlanda airport on a cosy bench and then I took a train home to Torsby in the morning.

Why I decided to go home, when I was suppose to stay two more weeks in the states, was because I managed to fell on my right hip two days in a row (one fall was on a bit of ice when I was walking!!), so I kind of pulled up my old injury again (the one  i got from Dew Tour). So instead of sitting around in Breck being bored when everyone is skiing, I decided to travel back home, get som rest, meet my family and focus on rehab! Hopefully the hip will feel a lot better in about a week and I will then be able to shred again :)

I’m sitting here watching the live scoring for the women’s slopestyle qualification. So that means I’m not up there competing… My hip have been troubling me this week during practice so I took the choice to pass on this comp. I haven’t been jumping for a month and it felt weird to go up there and try something that might turn out in a crash.

Although the hip is a lot better, and I will probably be back throwing tricks sometime next week. It was just a bummer that it didn’t wanna heal up in time to the first world cup here in Copper. But still there is four more FIS contest to go this season where I can gather points towards the olympics in Sochi, so hopefully it will be ok anyhow!

I had a day off on wednesday, so I took my camera with me and watched the boys throw down in the pipe at their pipe qualification. They were going huge and it was a quite fun mission to take some photos!

Yesterday it was the ski boys turn to take on the slopestyle course in the mens qualifications. Unfortunately no one of the six swedish boys made it in to the finals, but they did a good job anyhow as it was a really tough start field with 124 skiiers and only 12 advanced to the finals. Yesterday I arrived in Copper, where the VISA US Grand Prix is going down this weekend. There is a lot of athletes here from a lot of different nations, which has caused in that we can only have one hour of training a day for two days, so in total 2 hours of training! Yesterday was the first day of practice, I made 5 runs in our groups (C) training hour, and the course is really nice!

The course starts with a staircase with three options, a rail to the left, in the middle a bench to gap to downrail and to the right a a downbox. 2nd feature is either a busstop roof or a shoot out in a shape of a lamp-post. Then there is three pretty mellow jumps around 10 meters, 18 meters and 20 meters. (Saw some boys do double on the first jump, so yes it’s possible)

I tried the course yesterday, but I took it really easy as my hip isn’t 100% good yet. Today it’s 4 weeks since I injured myself at the Dew Tour course. I cross my fingers for that the day my hip feel better is today and that I can be able to land a good run at todays practice. At least I had the most epic breakfast in a while, so wish me luck!

Merry christmas to you all! Hope you’ve had a wonderful christmas among your family and friends :)

For the first time ever I’ve had the most un-christmas’y christmas ever. Me and Felix didn’t give away any presents and we celebrated christmas eve with a dinner at Bubba Gump here in Breckenridge, where we ate shrimps and fish!

During the day on the 24th we were skiing in Keystone and as my hip is still not 100% good, I decided to film Felix, and you’ll see the result here:

Unfortunately I fell on the 2nd day of practice in the slope course and I hurt my hip. So today I had to make the decision that I can’t compete tomorrow in Slope Semis… Big bummer!! But I guess there is more competitions in the near future and now I’m just looking forward to have a nice n’ long christmas break here in Breck, so there will be plenty of time to improve :)

The crash where I hurt myself was pretty funny, it went like this:
I was going to hit the down flat down rail for the first time, miscalculated to speed and took a little to much speed into it. I landed in-between the 1st n’ 2nd kink, bounced off the rail and flew all the way to the landing where I landed straight on my hip. I lost my breath so I started gasping for air and Felix came and helped me off with my skis. After maybe 30-45 seconds a snowboarder gaped the dfd to the last down part and then when he landed he crashed straight into me and Felix, BOOOOM! The snowboarder guy started bleeding from three places in his face, I got his board in my head (lucky I wore a helmet!!) and Felix got tumbled up by the snowboarders body.

Gnarly crash, but I’m so happy that we all managed to come out alright from it, could have ended a lot worse. Although I puked when I got back home to the Swedish house, so I think I also got a small concussion form the kollision.

As I said the semis for the girls is tomorrow, so instead of being one of the competitors I’ll cheer for the girls from the crowd and pretty stoked to see who will make it to finals :)

Yesterday the weather was quite sketchy and we were more and less skiing in a snowstorm… Hopefully the weather will be a little bit better today and hopefully my skis will glide a little better after my waxing session last night!

Yesterday I had the best day of shredding so far this pre-season! I’ve now done the nearly all of the tricks that I want for Dew Tour and I’m stoked for the upcoming event next week. An extra good think with the event is that I’ll compete on saturday n’ sunday next weekend so I will get five days of practice (mon-fri) – which will give us all plenty of time to get used to the course! :D

Today we skied in Breckenridge for the first time, and it was freaking awesome!

They don’t have so much up yet as they are pushing all their effort to make the Winter Dew Tour course ready. But they still had two small/medium jumps up, and they were so much fun! You don’t really need any speed into them and they are super safe, so you can basically try whatever you’d like in them.

We still have some jetlag left from euro-time, so we went up before the sun and got the first laps at the jumps!

As shredding in Breckenridge was so much fun, I guess we must revisit it tomorrow – hope to see you up there!

A 5 hour train trip, a night in stockholm, 5 am taxi to the airport, 2hrs checking in/waiting, 2,5 hrs flight to London, 3 hrs waiting/watching gossip girl, 9,5 hrs flight to Denver, 1 hour collecting bagage, 2,5 hrs shuttle to Breckenridge – AND I’m here, in Breckenridge!

When we arrived to Denver Int. Airport there was a crazy sunset going on!
